According to new research by Aberdein Considine, transactions worth more than 8 billion have been recorded between January and June 2019, thanks to a busy second quarter. Approximately 26,000 sales were concluded between April and June, up by 1000 for the same period last year.
The average price of a Scottish home is up by by 1.6% to £172,189, and Edinburgh remains the most expensive in Scotland with an average cost of £264,943. The average cost of a home in neighbouring East Lothian, has risen by 15.2% to £260,399.
Aberdeen, Dundee and parts of Glasgow also experienced a rise in house prices.
The demand for property remains high, with Scottish buyers looking for security amid the current economic uncertainty.
