The Scottish Government are now taking applications for ‘The Private Rent Sector Landlord (non-business) COVID-19 Loan Scheme’.
Landlords whose tenants are having difficulty paying rent as a result of COVID-19 can apply for interest free loans, subject to meeting certain criteria.
 – You must not be classified as a business
 – You must have five or less properties in your portfolio
 – You must have lost income due to tenants unable to pay rent as a result of the pandemic
 – You need to be able to evidence that you have already applied to your mortgage provider for a repayment holiday.
Landlords will also have to confirm that they have discussed the rent issues with their tenants and agreed a repayment plan with them (we advise that all correspondence be in email and records kept).
Luckily Evergreen Property have only had one case of financial difficulty, and our robust COVID-19 arrears policy allows us to support our tenants and manage the expectations of our landlords.
